I have an 82 gsl, with a built 12a, running quite a large turbo with a custom four injector throttle body and mega squirt blah blah blah, I hate it- mega squirt totally blows and I would love to go carbed, everyone says rotary shack but I have yet to be able to get ahold of anyone there-
anyone on here know where I can get a good carb to run a reliable 220-250hp like I was getting before my mega crapped out again?
I like old tec, the less electronics the better

Holley double-pumpers and Weber DCOEs are good candidates for blow-through. There's very little involved in boost-prepping a DCOE; as I understand it, use a neoprene float bowl gasket and teflon-tape anything threaded (save the idle mixture screws, obviously), and you're good to go. I hear Weber IDAs can be done without much trouble, either, but I don't know any specifics as to what's required.

The original site is down, but there's a writeup on boost-prepping a Holley here:

Other than that, it's just a matter of building a carb hat and tuning it.

is your four injector throttle body a downdraft or a sidedraft? a conversion may be simple as bolting on a boosted carb, installing a carb hat and changing over to a low pressire fpr :) and of course installing a locked distributor bor boost.:driving:

what happened to the megasquirt

There is no problem with the Megasquirt, the problem is in one of the injectors; the car ran perfectly when I handed it off to him.

The megasquirt was in some doubt, since both injector drivers went out on the one I originally sold him (however, it worked that morning before I pulled the engine and etc from the car), so I chalk that up to a wiring mistake. I re-wired the engine, made a new megasquirt for him, and re-tuned the new ecu at no labor cost, and it ran -perfect- for the week or so it was around the shop before he came and picked it up. But, running the Megasquirt on the simulator, everything checks out.

^^^basicaly the engine doesn't want to run unless ryan's behind the wheel, but I thought the original problems all spawned from the mega squirt issue?
