sgt.stinkfist's 1982 Mazda Rx-7 |
she started her life as a simple GS model, clean original K8 paint and a full RB exhaust system and became mine with 102k on the odometer. I had collected some parts for my 79 Rx-7, but never installed them, so the first day i had my '82, i took it to my garage and on went my RB springs, KYB shocks, and my 4x110 kosei K1's w/ 205/50 S-03 pole positions. the next upgrades required a call to rotary shack, and after a loooong wait, i finally got my GSL rear end and a 45mm sidedraft OER carb and wrap around intake manifold. over the next 2 years i experimented and added small things here and there. an aeromotive FPR, holley red fuel pump followed by an inline walbro EFI pump, an MSD 6AL, then a MSD 6BTM to join, Blaster coil direct fire, then 2nd gen coil direct fire, built my own intank sump for fuel, made new fuel lines...3 times, AEM UEGO, 2nd gen aluminum waterpump & housing, S4 followed by and S5 alternator, taurus Efan, clutch masters stage 3 clutch/PP and RB light steel flywheel, almost finished turboing it then changed my mind at the last minute. now here we are, old 12A out and being replaced with a ported S4 engine w/ S4 ECU and harness hybridized into an S2 chassis/harness. cut apart my RB header using the runners to make a full 2" dual exhaust to RB roadrace muffler, and hopefully by the time its done will have some T2 secondary injectors and an SAFC |
