This is the "Official" RCC 1/4 Mile ET List. There will be a "Top 25 Overall", and multiple classes/divisions with unlimited length. If you have any suggestions, please e-mail/PM me.

To get on the list, post up (either here or in a new thread) about your racing, with a scan or picture of your timeslip, a description of your car and mods. That's it! While a "complete" isn't necessary, it is encouraged! At the bare minimum I require Year, Make, Model, Engine Type/Model, port work, transmission, tires, and major mods (nitrous, turbo, blower, etc).

In the "Spirit" of being a true "RCC" 1/4 List, we'll only accept new times. So right now everybody is on the same "level", so go race!

The point of this list is to encourage a camaraderie amongst each other over the cars we love. Be helpful, be supportive, but most of all, HAVE FUN!

Keep it safe, keep it on the track.

My current best time is a 10.92 @ 128.49. I don't have a scan of the time slip handy, but here is the vid on youtube, should be more than enough proof.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KjeT7GOUds

My best 60' is a 1.52. I can dig through my time slips, i think i have more than one that has it, but here is a vid, even though there isn't any proof that i pulled a 1.52

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coxy4dOVI64

I also ran a 9.89 @ 69 in my n/a FC in the 1/8th which transfers to a 15.44 @ 86.50. I think i still have a scan of that run too, but i will need to find the time slip, its been years.

EDIT: I just realized only new times are being accepted, looks like i'll have to wait until the tracks open back up.

Way to go P71. I just let theb other ones die out so the other lists die out so this will be the only one :)

zinx,
Yeah, since we're a "new" club/forum, I think it's best if we only accept "new" times. Absolutely AWESOME runs you had though!

Just a point of clarification though, the timeslip isn't really for "proof" as much as it's for reference. It's nice to see what track and all of the intervals on the slip, and most tracks have weather information on the slip as well.

85rx-7gsl-se,
Thanks! It's going to be awesome having a regularly updated list. So when can you go and get some times? ;) I'm looking at the 8th at PIR (Portland International Raceway) depending on weather.

I hope to by mid April. Main thing right now is to get my motor rebuilt and broke in for DGRR 08 :D Plus, I live about 2 hours from the closest 1/4 mile track. Everything around here is 1/8 :(

P71
02-29-2008, 03:49 PM
We have a conversion calculator, so don't let the 1/8 stop you ;)

PIR had a "Grand Re-Opening" last weekend, but there was no prep done, so it was kind of slippery! The "Official" opening is next weekend, the 7th/8th.

1/8th mile is 1/2 the distance and 3/4 the fun. I like running 1/8ths sometimes. The launch is the most important thing anyway.

85rx-7gsl-se
02-29-2008, 04:20 PM
1/8 mile isnt too bad. 1/4 mile is more fun, but I seem to break more stuff on 1/4 mile runs than 1/8th :D . The 1/8th mile is pretty decent for heads up street car runs though which is what I run in my 7 mostly.

P71
02-29-2008, 05:20 PM
1/8 mile can be fun. I'm lucky and have a great 1/4 mile track 45 miles away ;)

My only issue with 1/8th mile times is because my car is turbo'ed, it pulls harder the second half of the track...therefore while my 1/8th mile times suggests ~13.8, my real 1/4 mile times put me at 13.39....We will see what a streetport and a bigger turbo will do :D

P71
03-04-2008, 10:04 PM
It's not perfect, but it's better then basically leaving out all of the guys who only have access to 1/8 mile tracks.

Yes, excellent time :icon_tup:, but unless it's from 02/23/08 or newer, we aren't accepting it, simply because it's a "new" site, so we want a "fresh" list. Basically it gives you an excuse to go out and race again :driving:

Video works just fine as proof. I like having the slip for the incrementals (60', 1/8, etc). I'll play with the video to see the times and get you up there in the next day. Keep looking for that slip (or any slip really).

Never mind that 11.2, went to the strip last night and ran an 11.11. It should have easily been a 10 second pass but i botched the launch.

Congratulations, zinx. When are you bringing your car back down to good old Muncie or some runs? Thanks. I'll be back up to Muncie sometime. I've heard there are some major improvements since Dave Himes bought it. Good thing too, because Muncie was the worst track i've driven on. A local group i'm with is more than likely hosting an even there in the fall.

good one zinx! Still trying to get mine dialed in..lol.. I went last friday night, didnt realize they had the outlaw cars event going on. Had 1 hour window to get some runs in before they started there qualifing runs. These were some bad ass cars! Watched a few and none made a full pass. One stayed in it for 3/4 of the track running 4.3ish! Made one pass 1.67 60 foot, missed 3rd ran 7.5 @95 and got kicked out for no helmet... So I will try again this weekend...I have helmet now!

Yeah, they repaved it. I've only been able to show up for around fifteen to twenty minutes one night due to my work schedule, so I don't know if they still have the stop light or if it is an actual tree now. Let me know when you decide to come up. I want to see your car in action again.

They only do the stop light for their Friday night races, "fast and furious" i think they called them. If you go on Wednesday's its a regular tree. That stop light threw me off the first time I ran on it. Pretty cool though for a legal "street racing" feel.

Thanks for the "at a boy".
I chipped four out of six apex seals after that day and still put 275 RWHP down. I have the Dyno sheet to show it.
I just broke in a Kevin Landers rebuild and ported motor. Smoked a dual friction clutch on the second 5k launch.:(
Center Force is gonna make good on the warranty and let me pay the difference
between the Dual Friction and the DFX. After all I gave them my mods and they recommended the dual friction. I just spent the holiday reinstalling last years clutch......which is like an on / off switch. I hate it but at least I can drive my 7. I store the car in winter.

P71

Are you running the 3rd gen at the event on pump or race? Why chance it, C16 is your friend...

I never raced the secound gen but i did drive it, the blower bearings went out and i parked it in the tralior 5 years ago. One day ill get the money and go turbo but its a long story.
Im tuned for 93 oct and if conditions are good ill race the 31st of aug if its too hot im in the car show in Kc, then sept in Tulsa im gonna run i love that track.
I want to see if i can beat 10.8 0n 93oct its one of those things i want to do.
It might be a mistake but i am full weight a/c power steering leather seats and the cruise even works so its a personal challenge. :driving::dunno:

Busted7, I am guessing you already know that 93 oct isn't sold around the Tulsa area, so be sure to bring enough with you. 91 oct is the best you can get around the Tulsa area, short of buying race gas.

if you can, you should have people add "altitude"

P71
09-28-2008, 11:24 AM
Altitude is worthless.

Density altitude would be nice!

But most tracks don't give out that information on TNT nights.

We were at sea level and 64* out, sow low DA, which is good.

(PS - There were 13 83 Vettes and one is still in the Corvette museum. You may not be faster then it...)

You have to convert it to 1/4 mile time...

Your 1/4 Mile ET is 10.85 seconds computed from your vehicle 1/8th ET of 6.89 seconds.
Your 1/4 Mile MPH is 131.51 MPH computed from your vehicle 1/8th MPH of 106.06 MPH.

have to compare apples to apples.. go to dragtimes.com Steve Kan went 6.8 @103 = 10.56 The conversion charts are not so friendly to some boosted cars.

All I have is an 1/8 mile time. I ran an 8.9@77 with a 2.1 60'. I used the time calculator on here and it said 13.9@95. Now for the car details.....

1983 LE
Street ported 13b repu(supposedly)
Dual webber carbs
Racing beat header and pre slilencer. After the silencer it goes into a stock 1st gen muffler.
The car has been stripped for autocross. I think it weighs just under 2200lbs.
Stock transmission
Stock GSL limited slip with 3.91's
Stock 13" wheels with 7 year old proxie road race compound tires.

That is what was done when I made my pass. Since then I recently put in GSL-SE gears, which are 4.08 I think? I noticed a difference but have not been to the track yet.

sk8world
07-20-2009, 07:02 PM
congrats on a nice pass for a NA car! About time this thread got bumped! I was wondering if everyone quite racing....

jbrozak
07-21-2009, 07:50 AM
Im getting ready to put a fuel cell in it soon. Not sure how much weight I will save getting rid of the 16.5 steel for a 12 plastic, but every pound counts when the car is already this light. That with the new gears, Im hoping to get at least an 8.80 out of it. Then I would hope for sure that I could break into the 13's NA in the 1/4. The funny thing is, this car is more built for autox then drag. It has tokico illuminas, eibach springs, aftermarket sway bars, and strut tower brace.

sk8world
07-22-2009, 09:31 PM
work on that 60 footer. Thats 99% of 1/8th mile racing. Whatever you can take off the 2.1 will also come off the big end, double off in the 1/4 mile. So you pull a 1.7 on the same pass as before it would yield a 8.5 1/8th and a 13.1 on the 1/4.

jbrozak
07-23-2009, 12:03 AM
What do you suggest for help in hooking? The car is mainly set up for autocross and I like it that way. Im not looking to change out the rear end or rear suspension. I suppose the easy way is to run some small slicks or drag radials?

sk8world
07-23-2009, 09:04 AM
if you have a solid rear you could do the radials but I would go with the bias ply "ET STREETS" ......

Sorry Don.. I am a bad influence! I am just glad I didnt make that pass in your car. I would have felt very bad. I still think the big factor was not loading your driveline. I started a thread in the club forum (drag section) discussing this very thing. I had a long discussion with Ari a month or so ago on this. Ari agreed that most of the issues or wrong combos and not loading it before the launch. You know I am 99% sure Noah is still on oem diff and he was pulling the front wheels. But his is an auto and on transbrake so he has load before he launches also. But that goes to show that the shock to the driveline is a huge factor. Obviously running upgraded axels, kaz lsd or cobra 8.8 irs sloves the problem but that may just be a blanket for the real problem...

Either way you fianlly made a 7's pass so that must feel good. You know you were out running the 2 Z06's and the super charged (550rwhp) GTO that were there that day! The white single turbo supra didnt go much quicker either (7.6). So imagine what your car would do on race gas and a 1.5 60 footer??? I am guessing a low 7 say (7.3-7.4)!

HDP

It's cool Mike. I really wanted to see what my car had but was too afraid of breaking something. I just needed that push to just do it. Now I know my car has more in it and the only way to extract it is to push it. Yeah, I broke, but that only makes way for improvements. To be honest, I was pretty bummed after Montgomery and the other T&T days we went to only to not post better times than before.
Was just looking at Steve's timeslip above, and our times are nearly identical. I wonder if my 1/4 times would be similar as well?

Well I lost today at the "king of the Streets" event but hads fun. I was up against a twin turbo chevy/Mustang and lost by .229 so it was close (him 6.7 @113). Was some fast cars there. Saw Lane in the white LS1 FD on a 2 stage NOS kit go 6.0 in the 1/8th!! Friend of mine brought his New GTR out with Cobb upgrades and went 7.3 over and over. Myself finally tried to run less boost (21 vs. 25) and the car ran the same but was easier to control, went 6.9-7.0 on every pass. I have some serious traction issues to resolve before next year as I dont believe I will go any quicker no matter how much power I make. I will post a video, sounds like I am going thru 5 gears as I am on and off the throttle...

Car did okay at 12 psi tire pressure. It didnt float all around on the big end so I just kept it around 12 psi. This was my second time out with the car, still trying to get used to it. Hell yes... Just freakin HOT! I went to the track 2 weeks ago to test the 2 step.. Car went as quick as it has ever gone with 5psi less and no 2 step. Just a swap in suspension. I was pumped. Turned the boost up and the 2 step on and car came out of the hole better than it has ever. Fell on its face middle of first gear ( long story of fuel issue- sump going in next), clutch slipping bad, so bad I had to let off to get it to grab some and still went about the same. SO new clutch-flywheel-PPlate going in tonight-this weekend. Test next week, then planing on going to NC SICC event to run that first 9.99999999.

Just get yours done intime for fall to go have some fun. Ray told me he would come back south anytime!
